A look back at Harvey Milk Day 🌈

Back in May, we teamed up with Gay For Good and LAUSD to honor Harvey Milk's legacy through service at Russell Elementary. Nearly 90 volunteers came together to paint murals, plant trees, build garden beds, and revitalize shared spaces across campus, creating a more welcoming environment for students and families.
As one LAUSD partner shared, “The students here in this playground will never forget what you’ve done for them.” Thank you to every volunteer, partner, and community member who made this day possible. Camp FAVE Day 1 was a huge success! 🌟

Our campers kicked off the week by making adorable onesies for new moms, which will be donated to Para Los Niños 💚

It was a wonderful way to teach kindness, giving back, and supporting our community. Campers also learned about reducing food waste through a fun “Scraps to Table” activity. Using yogurt containers filled with soil, they planted the bottom portion of an onion and discovered that food can be regrown instead of thrown away. Food is simply too good to waste! 🧅

The day was filled with exciting games, new friendships, teamwork, and leadership-building activities. We loved watching our campers connect, learn, and grow together while making a positive impact. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings! 💚
