On May 27, 2026, Assessor Prang appeared before the California State Board of Equalization to present AB 2172 (Gipson) and SB 1352 (Valladares and Allen), two sponsored measures aimed at improving property assessment processes and ensuring fair and equitable tax relief for property owners impacted by disasters. What an incredible day at the West Hollywood Pride Parade! It was an honor to join thousands of community members in celebrating Pride, inclusion, and the vibrant diversity that makes Los Angeles County so special.
Pride is both a celebration and a reminder of the progress that has been made, and the importance of continuing to build communities where everyone feels seen, valued, and welcomed. Thank you to the City of West Hollywood and everyone who helped make this year's parade such a memorable and inspiring event.

As the head of an Office which collects data from over 2.5 million taxable parcels, I have access to unique insights into the local real estate market. I recently shared some of these findings at the UCLA Anderson Forecast Seminar’s Board meeting and provided firsthand accounts of the rise of corporate buyer ship, wildfire recovery efforts, and insights into the real estate and commercial real estate markets. I am grateful to UCLA Anderson Forecast for hosting me, and to my data team for the hard work in putting together these interesting insights to share with the community.

No matter who you are, it’s always important to be aware and protect yourself from the latest scams and fraudulent activities, especially title fraud. To combat fraud, my Office developed the Homeowner Alert. This alert notifies property owners within 48 hours if a fraudulent document or deed is recorded on their property. I am grateful to El Camino College President, Dr. Brenda Thames, for inviting me to discuss this feature at their Senior Expo. Sign up today at www.assessor.lacounty.gov/enotification.

I was honored to join County leaders, community advocates, and members of the LGBTQ+ community at our County’s Progress Pride Flag Raising Ceremony. As we raised the Progress Pride Flag above the Hall of Administration, we celebrated the progress made while reaffirming our commitment to equality, dignity, and inclusion for all.
For many people, seeing a Pride flag displayed publicly is more than a symbol - It represents belonging, visibility, and hope. As the only openly LGBTQ+ County elected, I know how important representation and acceptance can be, especially for young people searching for community and for those who continue to face discrimination today. Thank you to the Los Angeles County LGBTQ+ Commission, the Board of Supervisors, and everyone who helped make this meaningful celebration possible. Happy Pride Month, Los Angeles County!

It’s always valuable to connect directly with local leaders and small businesses helping drive economic growth and opportunity in the Santa Clarita Valley. Thank you to the SCV EDC for hosting this annual gathering and for its continued leadership in supporting businesses and strengthening the region.

What a wonderful evening kicking off Pride Month with the San Gabriel Valley LGBTQ Center, SGV Roundtable, the Tournament of Roses, and Foothill Transit . This year, 12 cities across the San Gabriel Valley are joining together to celebrate Pride Month, demonstrating a shared commitment to inclusion, visibility, and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
Congratulations to Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association President Terry Madigan, the organization's first LGBTQ president. Your historic leadership is a powerful example of why representation matters and will inspire future generations of leaders.
