Starting the week with a visit to Keyla, one of our 2023 patients. Her journey reminds us that congenital heart disease doesn’t always end when a mission does. Some children require ongoing monitoring, follow up, and a community committed to walking alongside them every step of the way. 🫀🩺🥼
Keyla’s story is one of the reasons we are here this week. Because of her, many more children will have the opportunity to receive the care they need and the chance for a brighter future. 💜🦋
This week, we’re here to support more children and families, and we can’t wait to share the journey with you. 🇸🇻

Ladies who lunch? More like ladies who mission! ✈️💙
Earlier today, Isabelle met with Dorothy, Laura, and Ellen to prep them for our upcoming El Salvador trip.
From logistics to patient support, they’re the non-medical behind-the-scenes team that will help make this mission run smoothly.
We can’t wait to follow their journey and share updates from the field. Stay tuned! 🇸🇻💙

Before every surgery, there are countless steps designed to keep a child safe. 💜🦋
The careful planning. The preparation. The teamwork.
These moments may happen behind the scenes, but they’re a vital part of every child’s journey to healing.
This National Safety Month, we’re celebrating the people and protocols that help make life-changing care possible. ❤️

These aren’t just surgeons’ hands.
They’re the hands that give parents relief after months or years of worry. The hands that help children breathe easier, move freely, and grow up healthier. 💗✨
Every surgery changes more than one life. It changes an entire family’s future. https://www.mendingkids.org/thankyou.html 🦋💜

Not a bad run for a Gen Z!
From his first adventure with as a Viewpoint School high school student traveling with us to Peru, to now celebrating 5 years on staff, Jeff has become an integral part of our programs and outreach around the world. 🌎🦋
He has helped Individual Surgical Care patients reach lifesaving treatment, coordinated teams in the field from Tanzania to Paraguay, managed endless logistics, packed more duffels than should be humanly possible, and somehow survived working in an office powered almost entirely by estrogen. 💻
We celebrate Jeff’s journey with Mending Kids, and all the children and families he has helped along the way. 💜
Happy 5 years, Jeff. 🥳🎉👏

With the recent fires in our community, we’ve seen firsthand how much we rely on first responders and emergency medical teams in moments of crisis. ❤️
As EMS Week comes to a close, we want to recognize the EMTs and emergency personnel who not only serve our communities every day, but who also help keep our participants safe during events like our upcoming Hike 2 Mend on October 3 at Cheeseboro and Palo Comado Canyon, and we’re grateful for the dedicated EMS professionals who help make events like this safe for everyone involved. 🥾🌄
From the trails to times of emergency, their dedication, calmness, and care make a difference. Thank you to all EMS professionals for everything you do. 💜🦋

Healing is more than a procedure ❤️
Last year, Baby Dayron and his family came to us during one of the hardest moments of their lives as his heart was failing. We mended it. 💜🦋
This year, while we were back in Managua, they came for a wellness check, smiling, healthy, growing, and full of life. ☺️✨
During Mental Health Month, we’re reminded that healing goes beyond the procedure. It’s found in recovery, peace of mind, hope, and the chance for children and families to simply enjoy life and cherish what the future holds. 🌎🫶
