USC Department of Public Safety
Under Chief Lauretta Hill's leadership, DPS is one of the largest campus law enforcement agencies
The primary goal of DPS is to provide a safe and secure environment in which the social and academic endeavors of the University community may be fully realized. To achieve this goal, the department needs cooperation and support from students, staff and faculty in reporting incidents, utilizing the services the department provides and adhering to basic crime prevention practices. We appreciate you

🚨 Training for the unexpected. Preparing for the unthinkable.
Last week, USC DPS personnel joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) and Transit Services Bureau (TSB) for an intensive active shooter training exercise at the historic former Los Angeles County General Hospital.
Teams worked through three realistic, fast-paced scenarios focused on communication, coordination, and response during critical incidents. Exercises like these provide valuable opportunities to train alongside our law enforcement partners, strengthen relationships, and enhance our ability to respond when every second counts.
We are grateful to LASD for hosting this training and for the continued partnership that helps keep our communities safe.

Today, we stand alongside law enforcement partners and athletes whose perseverance continues to inspire us all. Together, we carry the flame of hope.
