There is no single story of homelessness.

At Weingart Center, we serve adults experiencing homelessness throughout the greater Los Angeles area, including seniors, veterans, women, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and people returning to the community after incarceration. Many are also living with serious mental health conditions or chronic health challenges.

Behind every intake form is a person with strengths, goals, and a future they’re working hard to build.

James is a resident of Weingart Tower who is rebuilding his life after years of incarceration and homelessness, using the stability of permanent supportive housing as a launchpad for his future. He loves having a clean, comfortable apartment of his own—somewhere he can finally relax, cook, sleep, and take care of himself in peace and privacy. And he makes the most of the on-site gym to relieve stress, stay focused, and feel strong in his body. To see James’s full Client Success Story, visit weingart.org/success-stories.

On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, residents at The Weingart Beacon received a special visit from Project Street Vet, a nonprofit that provides free veterinary care to pets whose families are experiencing homelessness or housing vulnerability throughout greater Los Angeles.

Their volunteer team hosted an on‑site Pet Wellness Clinic with exams, vaccines, flea and tick treatment, nail trims, and ear cleaning for Beacon residents’ beloved companion animals.

Events like this support the health of pets and the emotional well‑being of their owners as they work toward long‑term stability.

Thank you Project Street Vet

Sometimes, getting it out means writing it out. ✒️

Mental wellness can live in the quiet: the act of slowing down, putting pen to paper, and giving your thoughts a place to land.

At Weingart Center, we offer journaling workshops as part of our commitment to whole-person wellness. This simple practice can have a profound impact, giving participants a moment to process and reflect.

Mental wellness takes many forms. Sometimes, it starts on the page.

Taking care of your mental health isn't always an internal or quiet journey. Sometimes, it looks like walking through a door you've never opened before.

Our walk-in Access Center in Downtown Los Angeles is open to anyone experiencing homelessness or at risk of it. To make sure everyone gets the care they need, we sit down with each person, listen to their unique situation, and connect them with the help that makes the most sense for them

That first moment of reaching out for resources is courageous. It deserves to be met with care.
