Assisting and inspiring homeless youth in building self-sufficient lives through a broad continuum of care including meals, education, case management and more.

Flex Voting and LAist Voter Education at MFP | My Friends Place 06/12/2026

In May, LAist held two voter education workshops at My Friend’s Place to discuss how voting works, the issues most important to young people, and the Los Angeles mayoral candidates’ positions on those issues.

In addition to voter education workshops, My Friend’s Place served as a Flex Vote Center. Young people, staff, and other community members cast their ballots at My Friends Place, with some young people voting for the very first time!

Recently, the young people hit the trails at Griffith Park for a reset, some laughs, and a reminder that sometimes the best way to clear your mind is to touch grass. Literally.

Through workshops, field trips, and special events, My Friend's Place offers creative arts, enrichment, and life skills programming to equip young people with the tools and support they need to exit homelessness on their own terms.

This time around, it looked like a hike at Griffith Park for some fresh air and good views.
