Happy Juneteenth!
Today we commemorate June 19, 1865, when 250,000 enslaved people in Texas were informed of their freedom, two and a half years after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of our history and the sacredness of freedom and liberation.
We celebrate African American history, culture, and resilience. As we honor this day, we are reminded of the importance of coming together to advance understanding, justice, and equal opportunity for all.

This AANHPI Heritage Month, AADAP proudly honors and celebrates Thai Community Development Center, an organization that continues to empower and uplift Thai and Southeast Asian communities across Los Angeles.
We are so proud to have Thai CDC as part of our AADAP ohana. During a critical transition period, we provided operational assistance to the organization, cultivating a path for Thai CDC to expand its programs and deepen impact. By 1996, Thai CDC established itself independently and continued growing through advocacy, community development, housing, immigrant services, and cultural preservation efforts.
Today, Thai CDC remains a vital leader and advocate for immigrant and underserved communities. We are proud to recognize their lasting impact and shared commitment to empowering AANHPI communities.
