GANG SAPRO

The GA NG Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office (SAPRO) serves as the single point of authority for program accountability and oversight, in order to empower all members of the GA Department of Defense to affect culture change and enable military readiness and reduce -- with a goal to eliminate -- sexual assault from the GA National Guard.

“Step Forward” Awareness starts with action.

Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month gave us an opportunity to reflect and recommit to helping to eliminate Sexual Assault within our organization.

The State Sexual Assault Prevention & Response team (SAPR) hosted an annual scavenger hunt to promote education, awareness, and prevention across the force.

Congrats to all participants, with HRO taking the overall win for consistent performance. The Teal Goat Award was passed from the Legal Team to HRO—continuing the mission of advocacy and accountability.

Because prevention is everyone’s responsibility.

Empowering Change: Innovative Response Strategies for Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence (EVAWI).
The Georgia SAPR Team joined thousands of professionals, including law enforcement, prosecutors, advocates, health care providers, judges, faith leaders, educators, researchers, and others for a powerful 3-day conference dedicated to advancing innovative response strategies for sexual assault and domestic violence.

EVAWI provided the GA SAPR team with cutting-edge workshops, inspiring keynotes, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. This allowed the team to further explore bold solutions, elevate survivor-centered practices, and work together to drive real, lasting change.

The Hawaiʻi Summit is a multidisciplinary gathering of professionals working together to tackle the major issues in fields dealing with violence, abuse, and trauma. International and local speakers come together to share their findings on causation, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation at both the global level and at smaller, community-based levels. Summit attendees will have the opportunity to gain continuing education credits and meet professional licensure requirements. The Summit is also a great opportunity to network not only within your field, but also with professionals in other fields that may provide valuable insight into how theory and research is applied across disciplines.

Members of the GA SAPR TEAM had the opportunity to attend this training and fellowship with our DC SAPR partners.
