Well we’ve got some news that we would like to share with you all. The Lake Egypt Fire District was awarded a Small Equipment Grant from the Illinois State Fire Marshal office. We greatly appreciate the awarding of this funding. Funding was used towards the purchase of a set of HURST Jaws of Life tools from Sentinel Emergency Solutions.
Furthermore, we were awarded a separate grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources towards the purchase of battery ventilation fans and 2 sets of structure gear.
What better way to break in a new set of extrication tools than to put them to use. Today, the black shift did some vehicle extrication training. Thank you to the Goreville Fire Department for allowing us to use your facilities!

The Lake Egypt Fire District would like to congratulate Firefighter Matt McComas and Firefighter Wes Chrisman for completing the Basic Firefighter, and Advanced Fire Technician certifications! Both members graduated from the program today. This was a very intense blended (online and in-person) program that teaches the basics of firefighting. Both did an outstanding job. We hope they both continue to serve the Lake Egypt Fire District for many years to come.

Thank you for the kind words! We are deeply sorry someone’s property was destroyed, however, we always strive to give the best service we possibly can. We are always happy to assist the Williamson County Fire Protection District anytime. Over the years and after hundreds of calls, we’ve developed a very close working relationship with them and other area agencies.

Another reason the Lake Egypt Fire District is a proud member of MABAS-Illinois! We are grateful for the equipment and opportunities to strengthen response capabilities and preparedness in our area. With the unfortunate intensity and frequency of disasters in our area this will be a great asset to have.
