After 10 weeks of hard work, discipline, and dedication, our newest recruit class has officially graduated from the McKinney Fire Department Recruit Academy and earned their navy blue shirts.

When recruits are first hired, they are issued neon shirts to help them stand out and build unity as a class. Week after week, they trained diligently, pushed through challenges, and prepared themselves for the responsibility of serving our community on shift.

We are proud of their commitment and excited to see what the future holds for these newest members of our fire department.

Recently, one of our McKinney Fire Department crews responded to a call involving a resident who had lost his balance while using a new self-propelled lawn mower. After helping him up and making sure he was okay, the crew noticed the mower was still out and the yard needed attention.

They finished mowing the yard, moved the mower safely, and even pulled a few weeds before clearing the scene.

This is the kind of service that often happens quietly, without expectation of recognition. It is compassion in action, and it reflects the heart of the men and women who serve this community every day.

Great job to the crew for representing McKinney Fire so well and for reminding us that sometimes the smallest acts of kindness leave the biggest impact.
