Dallas County Mosquito Lab has notified the Health division that mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus in zip code 75149.
Tonight, weather permitting, we will spray in the following areas in 75149: โNeighborhoods near the intersection of Pioneer and Cartwright.โ
Weather such as rain and or wind may prohibit treatment of these designated areas. Treatment will begin after 10 pm. If you are outside during the hours that mosquitoes are active, please remember to use an effective repellent product. The spray map is attached.
To help protect yourself from mosquito bites, remember the four Ds:
*DRAIN standing water on your property so mosquitoes won't breed.
*Use insect repellant that contains DEET on your clothes.
*Stay indoors at DUSK and DAWN when mosquitos are most prevalent.
*DRESS in long sleeves and pants and spray repellant on your clothes.
