Sadly, our Downtown Mesquite Market management has had to make the call to cancel Market for Saturday, June 6. The scenario forecasters are predicting as of the timing of the post are very iffy. It's a tough call to make, but in the interest of protecting people, inventory and equipment, the decision has been made to cancel this weekend. We'll see you June 13 in Downtown Mesquite!
City of Mesquite, TX Government

Tomorrow’s Downtown Mesquite Market has been canceled due to rapidly evolving weather conditions.
Forecast updates continue to show a strong chance of showers during key setup and tear-down periods, which creates unsafe and unpredictable conditions for vendors, guests, and event operations.
With safety as our guiding priority, we are erring on the side of caution and making the decision early to avoid putting anyone in a difficult or unsafe position.

See y’all on 6/13 for our regularly scheduled programming!

Did you know the month of May is officially recognized as National Historic Preservation Month? In honor of the occasion, we're excited to spotlight a significant event that transpired right here in Mesquite at the old depot station, now known as Front Street Station: the Sam Bass Train Robbery.

Tune in to a special edition of "History Notes" and listen in as our friend Derrel Lyon, aka Mild Bill, recounts the western tale that became part of Mesquite's history.

If you're in downtown, don't forget to check out the historical marker on the Downtown Mesquite square that commemorates the legendary event.
