On May 29-30, 2026, Dr. Vania E Fernández and Dr. Deborah Ann Mulligan attended the Florida Medical Association Spring Board of Governors Meeting.
Dr. Fernandez and Dr. Mulligan served on the Council on Legislation and presented at the meeting were the FMA's legislative successes this year included more funds secured for residency spots and FRAME loan forgiveness, protection from additional medical malpractice liability, and limiting date scope of practice expansion in the interests of patient safety.

The Broward County Medical Association (BCMA) is delighted to celebrate the success of the 2nd Annual Florida Women Physicians Retreat, "Beyond the White Coat: Building Your Brand, Voice, and Visual Identity," held May 1-2, 2026.
Alongside county medical societies Collier County Medical Society, Duval County Medical Society, HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY MEDICAL ASSOCIATION, Lee County Medical Society, County Medical Society, Miami-Dade County Medical Association, Palm Beach County Medical Society, and SARASOTA COUNTY MEDICAL SOCIETY, as well as the Florida Society of Nephrology, BCMA was proud to bring together female physicians for a weekend centered on professional growth, personal branding, and community.
From dynamic educational sessions to meaningful networking, attendees left inspired and equipped to lead with confidence in and beyond the exam room.

Dr. Rossetti is recognized for her patient-centered approach to hearing care, with expertise in diagnosing and managing hearing loss, tinnitus, and comprehensive aural rehabilitation.

Congratulations to the medical students and residents recognized at the 7th Annual Medical Students and Residents Research Competition, hosted by the Miami-Dade County Medical Association and the Broward County Medical Association on Saturday, March 7 in Miami.
This year’s competition featured 15 impressive research presentations from medical students, residents, and research fellows across South Florida, highlighting innovative work aimed at advancing medical knowledge, improving patient outcomes, and shaping the future of healthcare. Physician leaders from both counties served as judges, evaluating presentations based on scientific rigor, originality, presentation quality, and clinical relevance.
Among the medical students, the winners were Hope Cherian Florida International University - First Place, Evelyn Echevarria Cruz Nova Southeastern University- Second Place, Annabel Ricci BSc - Honorable Mention, and Hunter Moran Florida International University – Honorable Mention.
The winners in the residents and research fellows category were Carol Williams, MD - First Place, and Kevin Pina, MD - Second Place.
We extend our sincere thanks to the physician judges, doctors Steven Gorin, Julie Kantor, Jorge Marcos, Jean Dominique Morancy, Juan D. Oms, and Eneida Roldan, who generously contributed their expertise, and to Altfest Personal Wealth Management for sponsoring the competition prizes and supporting the professional development of emerging physician leaders.
