One week into the season, the team has already completed months of preparation behind the scenes.

From a full-scale floodgate exercise to a coordinated hurricane tabletop exercise with and key partners, critical systems, communication protocols, and response procedures have all been tested and refined.

These exercises help ensure that one of Miami’s most vital transportation links is ready when severe weather threatens our community.

Because preparedness isn’t a reaction—it’s a responsibility.

At the Miami Tunnel, resilience is built long before the first winds arrive.

🌪️ Hurricane season started. Our preparation started long before that.

June marks the beginning of the Atlantic hurricane season, but at the , readiness isn’t seasonal—it’s year-round.

Before the first forecast, before the first storm track, and before the first alert, our team completed a full floodgate inspection and readiness exercise, testing critical systems, safety protocols, and emergency response procedures designed to protect one of Miami’s most important transportation corridors.

Because when the weather changes, there’s no time to prepare. You have to be prepared.

Resilience starts long before the storm arrives.
