We were honored to host the New York Times interview with Ricardo Adé, co-captain of the Haiti National Team, and a few of the 1974 Haiti National Team members.
Last weekend was about legacy. 🇭🇹⚽️
Fifty-two years ago, Haiti stepped onto the world stage at the 1974 FIFA World Cup. This past weekend, that generation stood alongside today’s national team—a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come and the shoulders upon which this generation stands.
We paid tribute to members of Haiti’s historic 1974 World Cup team with a special award presented by Ricardo Adé on behalf of the Little Haiti Optimist Club and Art Beat Miami. Moments like these remind us why preserving and celebrating our history matters.
From the legends who paved the way to the players carrying the flag today, this is what legacy looks like.
Stop by Caleb Café & Grill, Chefs of the Caribbean at Miami International Airport or various World Cup activations to grab a copy of Art Beat Miami Magazine featuring an exclusive story on Ricardo Adé and pick up your free Duckens Nazon poster, while supplies last.
This is Haiti.
This is pride.
This is legacy. 🇭🇹
Shoutout to Chefs of the Caribbean, Chef Dominique and Chef France, this was a weekend we will never forget.

In Little Haiti, the past, present, and future of Haitian fútbol came together.
From the singing of the U.S. and Haitian National Anthems by Sheila B to the energy of Ambiance Creole Band, the artistry of NSL Dance Ensemble, and the sounds of DJ Mack, the ART BEAT MIAMI Haitian Heritage Month Kick-Off to GOAL! celebrated the culture, pride, and resilience of Haiti.
Guests received the commemorative Art Beat Miami magazine and poster featuring Duckens Nazon, who shared a special video message about the honor of representing Haiti on the world stage. As Haiti prepares for its return to the World Cup, the Little Haiti Optimist Club and ART BEAT MIAMI honored members of the legendary 1974 Haiti National Team, including Pierre Bayonne, who attended the celebration in person.
“Those players are legends forever for Haiti. We will fight to honor their work and make them proud.” -Duckens Nazon
Fifty-two years after Haiti’s historic World Cup appearance, the celebration served as a tribute to those who paved the way and a rallying cry for the next generation carrying the flag forward.
Hosted by Carel, guests also enjoyed Haitian soulful light bites from Chefs of the Caribbean and Caleb Café & Grill while celebrating Haiti’s rich cultural legacy and the excitement of what’s to come.
Let’s go Haiti! 🇭🇹⚽❤️💙
