Tomorrow we kick off the FREE 2026 Midsummer Festival! One of everyone's favorite events is the bonfire we light both Friday and Saturday night (weather permitting). It's exciting and comforting and a great way to celebrate the occassion.

This year, there are soo many musical acts at the FREE 2026 Midsummer Festival

Sunday we top off the Midsummer Festival with a gospel hour and delicious Norwegian waffles provided by the Daughters of Norway, Mina Aasen Lodge #55, Minot, ND . Two toppings available: lingonberry or brunost (a Norwegian cheese). Waffles served from 11am - 1pm. Gospel hour features the talents of Michael Fiske and Sue Collins, from noon - 1pm. A delightful way to wind down from a busy weekend!

This weekend at Midsummer Festival, among all the music and activities, you’ll find a wide variety of unique vendors with tantalizing things to offer. So come and have some snacks, check out the Norwegian Forest Cats, play some games, and take a stroll through the viking market.

FREE 2026 Midsummer Festival is a family affair, with lots of things for all ages to enjoy, but in case you're wondering how to keep your kids busy while you're having fun, here are just a few of the things they'll love:

A scavenger hunt (with prizes and candy)
A cosplay contest (all ages can enter, there are prizes here too)
Norwegian forest cats (from age 0 - 150, we all love these guys)
Games, including Norwegian golf, kubb, and corn hole.
A lego tent for over-stimulated kids to chill.
Bonfire (watching not lighting)
Plus so much more, go check the schedule and plan your weekend wisely.

Surströmming stinks. No really, it stinks really bad. It’s a Swedish delicacy of fermented baltic herring. It’s scent is sometimes compared to rotten eggs or gasoline. Mmm yummy.

At Midsummer Festival this coming weekend, gather around and see who can stomach it. Maybe volunteer as tribute and compete to win a prize. We’ll all be rooting for you! From a safe distance, upwind.
