Earlier today, Minot Fire Department crews assisted Minot Rural, Surrey, and Burlington Fire Departments with a medical emergency atop grain bins in the 1500 block of 153rd Street SE.
Due to the patient's elevated location, firefighters used specialized technical rescue equipment and training to conduct a high-angle rescue operation. Crews safely lowered the individual to the ground, where they were transferred to Trinity Ambulance personnel for transport.
While technical rescue incidents of this nature are uncommon, Minot Fire Department personnel regularly train for a variety of specialized rescue scenarios to ensure they are prepared when called upon.
No further information will be released.
Trained, maintained & ready.

Today, our crew at Station 1 had the chance to give Luca a ride to school in something he only dreamed of - a fire engine.
Every year we donate a few certificates for a Fire Engine Ride to community organizations to support their fundraisers. Lucky for Luca, his parents were the winning bidders this year.
Luca got to pull up to Edison Elementary in Engine 1 and helped give all his classmates a tour of the engine.
Luca, we hope this was a day you'll never forget.
