Friends of Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge

We are seeking new members to join our Board of Directors.
Board members help expand community programs, education, conservation projects, and fundraising that directly support the refuge.
We’re looking for people who care about the outdoors and our community and who can bring skills like community connections, nonprofit leadership, finance, fundraising, communications/marketing, education, or event planning.
A Friend is an ambassador for the refuge. If you’re interested (or know someone who might be), please reach out.

Earlier this month we w**ded, planted, and cleaned up the Central Elementary Community School Garden. It was so exciting to see all the little hands helping to make the garden successful this year.

Thank you to everyone who has helped so far and a special thanks to Kaysha and Aaron W. for sharing their expertise and to Community School Coordinator Ashley Z. for helping spread the word to families and neighbors!

Please bring gloves, water, sun protection and any of your favorite w**ding tools.

Join Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge and Peques Nature Club for a free, drop-in art program! This family-friendly event invites everyone to contribute to a community art project while enjoying the beautiful nature of the refuge. Along with the art activity, there will be a mini-lesson on migratory birds to spark curiosity and inspire creativity.

Registration: Not required, just drop in at anytime!
