This past Sunday, our community showed up in a powerful way for our annual Walk-A-Mile event—raising over $35,000 in support of survivors of sexual violence. 💙
We are deeply grateful to every single person who showed up from across Napa County, and to those who gave so generously in support.

This year’s theme was We Believe—
WE BELIEVE survivors.
WE BELIEVE prevention works.

WE BELIEVE in a community where safety, dignity, and respect are the standard.
Together, we continue to show that survivors are not alone—and that change is possible.

Our office had a blast participating at this year's Walk-A-Mile Napa Valley event held Sunday. We joined approximately 200 other participants who put on their walking shoes to show support for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and other forms of physical violence. It was great seeing everyone gather for this cause and we hope to see even more people join next year!

Wear your denim. Stand in solidarity. 💙

Tomorrow is Denim Day—a powerful reminder that there is never an excuse for sexual violence. What someone wears is never consent.

Denim Day began after a 1990s court ruling in Italy overturned a sexual assault conviction, claiming the victim’s jeans implied consent. In response, people around the world wore denim in protest—and a movement was born.

April 19–25 marks 45 years of honoring, supporting, and advocating for survivors during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. 💜

First proclaimed in 1981, this week is a reminder that crime impacts every part of a survivor’s life—and that no one should have to face that journey alone. Across the country, thousands of victim service programs and advocates work every day to help survivors heal, rebuild, and find justice.

This year’s theme: Listen. Act. Advocate. Protect victims, serve communities. And through the power of CommUNITY, we recognize the collective impact of survivors, advocates, and neighbors working together to ensure every voice is heard and every need is met.

We honor the resilience of survivors and renew our commitment to standing beside them—not just this week, but every day.

Did you know April is also Sexual Assault Awareness Month? We thought we would partner with our friends over at NEWS Napa Valley to share more information and resources for survivors of Sexual Assault! 💙🫂

NEWS advocates are available to support survivors throughout the reporting process, including providing on-scene crisis response for sexual assault-related incidents to provide support and offer services. They walk alongside survivors through the criminal justice process, offering court accompaniment, and assistance with obtaining restraining orders related to the assault.

Their team supports survivors with both active criminal cases and those who choose not to pursue legal action. They offer assistance with emergency needs such as food, clothing, transportation, emergency hotel stays or shelter, and things even security cameras to name a few. Additionally, NEWS can provide some limited support with certain housing-related concerns.
