We’re reaching out with an urgent request. 🚨

Just halfway through the month, we’ve already run out of emergency gift cards. With our next round of funding not arriving until July, we’re now in the difficult position of turning families away without this critical support.

For the families we serve, a simple gift card can make an immediate difference by putting food on the table, covering gas to get to work, or helping purchase essentials to keep their children safe and healthy.

We’re asking our community to step in by donating gift cards in $25 increments to:

• Walmart
• Target
• Grocery stores
• Gas stations

Gift cards can be mailed to Cope or dropped off Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM. You can also give through the link below, and we’ll purchase cards for families in urgent need.

An anonymous donor will double your impact by matching all donations up to $1,000.

Your support today ensures a family doesn’t leave empty-handed. Thank you for showing up when it matters most.

Grooming and sexual abuse are difficult topics, but understanding and recognizing the warning signs is important for keeping children safe. In partnership with the Napa County District Attorney's Office, join us Thursday, 6/25 for a presentation and discussion that will explore key warning signs, offer guidance on how to talk with your child about grooming and abuse, and share practical steps you can take to protect your family.

Due to the sensitive nature of this topic, we encourage participants with a history of abuse to attend with a support person.

Cope's Monthly Parent Groups are made possible by generous community support including key funding from The Elaine Jones Safety Net Fund, a Community Impact Fund of Napa Valley Community Foundation and Health and Human Services Agency, Napa County.

Catching up with Ashley ⭐️

One fateful day in June 2022 changed the trajectory of Ashley’s life.

Ashley’s daughter Kennedy, not yet two years old, had gotten into drugs in their home. While Kennedy was “okay,” what followed was a journey towards healing and reunification with her daughter. Ashley and her partner, Jonny, committed to their sobriety and took parenting classes at Cope, and by the time Ashley enrolled in Cope’s Home Visiting program, she had regained partial custody of Kennedy.

Four years on, Ashley and her family are thriving. Last month, Ashley graduated from Napa Valley College with associate degrees in social work, human services, and sociology. She was accepted to University of San Francisco’s honors college, where she will receive her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and she will graduate in three semesters with honors.

She was also accepted to USF’s Mellon Scholars Program, awarding her a $10,000 scholarship and guaranteeing a paid internship.

After graduating with her bachelor’s degree, Ashley plans to pursue a Master of Social Work or stay at USF to complete a Master of Psychology with a concentration in marriage and family therapy.

Ashley’s partner, Jonny, is also thriving. He is working towards three degrees at Napa Valley College, is Executive Vice President of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, and was just elected as Senator for student government.

“As I leave, he’s stepping into my place. It’s been nice to see him continue to carry that on.”

Kennedy graduated from TK on June 5th, and she will start kindergarten in the fall. Ashley says that Kennedy is liked at school and has done well academically.

With Kennedy turning five, the family has also graduated from Cope’s Home Visiting program. “We’re very sad to have finished the program. Everything with Tami was so great, and Kennedy learned a lot from her and the home visits.”

Today, June 8th, Ashley is four years sober, and Jonny will celebrate four years of sobriety in October. They remain committed to their sobriety and are wonderful parents to their daughters.

“We wouldn't be where we are today without the amazing support team that we've had."
