Last Friday, our managers and leadership team convened for our final quarterly Managers Meeting at Essex Crossing Community Center to discuss key accomplishments of the year, program highlights, and strategic organizational updates at Grand Street Settlement. CEO Robert Cordero also celebrated recently promoted managers and new hires!

We're grateful to have a cohort of incredible leaders on our staff working together to serve and empower our neighbors throughout the Lower East Side, Brooklyn, and the Bronx!

📣 Human services nonprofits can't run on IOUs.

Delayed payments for nonprofits directly impact the New Yorkers most in need of essential human services. Children, working families, older adults, and communities across the city depend on our programs every day.

New York City passed Local Law 156 to ensure nonprofits received 50% contract advances to keep essential human service programs running smoothly. Now, the City is considering delaying these payments.

Tomorrow, Grand Street is joining our nonprofit colleagues at City Hall Park at 10 AM to fight for the full implementation of Local Law 156. Will you be there?

This , we're spotlighting the volunteers from Goldman Sachs who stopped by Williamsburg Community Center to help with our garden revitalization and beautification project! 🌱

Goldman Community TeamWorks joined staff to spruce up the indoor and outdoor garden areas by cleaning up debris, repainting planter pots and flowerbeds, and planting fresh flowers.🌻With their support, the Williamsburg Center's garden is in tip-top shape just in time for summer camp season. ☀️

Grand Street Knicks fans were in for a treat last Friday. Youth program participants showed off their skills on the court before gathering to watch a nail-biter of a game!

Happy from Grand Street! Rose Gruening founded Grand Street Settlement in 1916 to support families of immigrants arriving in New York City seeking housing, jobs, and the American dream.

Today, Grand Street's multicultural makeup is what makes our programs special. From our Dominican and Albanian preschoolers in the Bronx, to our famous Tai Chi and Zumba classes for Seniors on the Lower East Side, to our Caribbean and East Asian participants throughout Brooklyn, Grand Street continues to celebrate the incredible contributions, culture, and joy that immigrants bring to our country and community. ❣️

⚡ Little JUMP learned about clean energy at the Liberty Science Center
🎳 Big JUMP proved their athletic skills at the bowling alley, archery range, and (indoor) racetrack
🌷Big JUMP captured the beauty of the natural world in their photography challenge
🙌 Little JUMP put teamwork to the test at the Area53 laser tag arena
🎢 Big and Little JUMP wrapped up another incredible year of adventures with their mentors, with trips to the Coney Island classic Luna Park NYC and the famous coaster park, Six Flags!

For nearly three decades, Grand Street's JUMP program has enabled hundreds of youth from the Lower East Side to take adventures across New York City for experiences they may not otherwise be able to access.

Thank you to our volunteer mentors for making this incredible program possible. We can't wait to see our mentors and mentees next season. Have a great summer, JUMP!
