It was great being at the 15th Annual Minty Awards this year with my colleague Councilman Frank Morano! This wonderful organization has been showcasing the wonderful community and performing arts scene at our local Catholic high schools for a decade and a half. We are so blessed to have such great local talent and energy here in .

It was 82 years ago when today that the liberation of France began with the D-Day landings in Normandy. God bless the heroes who fought for our country and our allies. These brave men hazarded all for the future of our nation and the world, and we must alway honor those who were part of this crucial moment in World War II.

Very happy to announce that the Department of Sanitation has agreed to extend the reimbursement for NYC bins to match the extension of the moratorium on fines - which is September 7th. I thank my colleagues Minority Leader David Carr and Kamillah Hanks Council Member-D49 for working with me to make this happen.

Homeowners still working toward compliance will no longer be penalized for their inability to purchase bins due to supply shortages.

I thank DSNY for working with us to make this process more affordable for so many New Yorkers.

My colleagues and I have been fighting to push back the NYC trash bin deadline from the moment this terrible policy was forced down our throats. Happy to announce our relentless advocacy has been successful - the new deadline is now Sept 8th. A special thank you to Councilman Frank Morano for his efforts in getting over the finish line.

I had such a great time stopping by the annual Albanian picnic. These proud Staten Islanders are such a great part of the fabric of our borough, city, and country. I hope they had a wonderful day celebrating their community and culture.

My office partnered with the Staten Island District Attorney's Office on today’s shred event at the College of Staten Island. So many residents came out to get their sensitive documents shredded. Thank you to DA McMahon and his team for organizing these initiatives around the borough.
