We’re kicking off the World Cup Passport Recipe Challenge with a fan favorite recipe from our very own Live Healthy! team: soy chorizo taco bowl. This Mexican inspired dish uses soy chorizo, which is a great substitute for ground beef and is packed with fiber and plant-based protein. This recipe can help with avoiding excess saturated fats that can often be found in packaged ground beef.

Let us know if you try this recipe: https://livehealthycooks.com/recipe/soy-chorizo-taco-bowl/

We joined The Africa Center’s annual Africa Day Celebration for a fun day filled with family-friendly activities, local artisans, live entertainment, food and cultural experiences that honor the African Diaspora’s global impact.

Our team had the opportunity to share New York Common Pantry’s programs and service and to engage with community members. We also had the opportunity to hear remarks from Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani and connect with The Office of Council Member Yusef Salaam.

In recognition of World Nutrition Day, Bloomberg recently highlighted New York Common Pantry’s Live Healthy! Program and our long-term partnership dedicated to building healthier communities together for the future.

For more than a decade, Bloomberg’s partnership has gone beyond volunteering with packing and distributing fresh, nutritious food to New Yorkers in need. “'Bloomberg has been a generous partner to New York Common Pantry for 13 years, supporting many of our food programs and health initiatives. Their donations have helped to feed thousands of hungry New Yorkers, including their frequent and generous in-kind giving: food drives, food rescue, and the annual Million Meals campaign,” said Stephen Grimaldi, Executive Director, New York Common Pantry.'”

We’re grateful to Bloomberg for sharing our story and their commitment to strengthening communities across New York City.

The Fourth Annual Dick Cattani Memorial Outing to support New York Common Pantry (NYCP) was a success! We raised more than $200,000, which will enable NYCP to provide more than 204,000 meals to hungry New York families.

The Golf Outing is a special event to honor Dick Cattani’s legacy by combining his love of the Pantry and our mission, and supporting his community. Dick, a cherished husband, father, colleague, friend, and former CEO of Restaurant Associates and dedicated New York Common Pantry (NYCP) Board Member, continues to inspire us.

We also awarded the first-ever Dick Cattani Legacy Award, Honoring Leadership, Kindness, and Service to Others, to Ed Brown, New York Common Pantry’s Board Member and Chief Executive Officer of Restaurant Associates.

Thank you all for supporting New York Common Pantry. If you haven’t had the opportunity yet, you can still donate here to support our work providing nutritious food and vital resources to New Yorkers in need: https://nycommonpantry.org/golfdonate/
