Since joining Queensborough in 2024, PRIDE Center Coordinator Lamar Greene (They/Them) has helped transform the PRIDE Center into a thriving hub for connection, advocacy, student leadership, and support. From creative programming and wellness initiatives to student development opportunities, Lamar has worked to build a space where students can show up as their authentic selves and feel empowered to succeed.

☀️ Summer Hours at Queensborough! QCC will be closed on Fridays this summer. From June 8, 2026 through August 14, 2026, in-person and virtual services will be available Monday through Thursday only.

📅 Please note: The College will also be closed on Friday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth and Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day.

We’ll return to our regular Monday–Friday schedule the week of August 17.

Whether you're tackling a challenging course, preparing for exams, or looking to strengthen your study skills, CTAS offers free academic support to help you stay on track all summer long.

Congratulations to Queensborough alumna Samanta Sonia Seegopaul on making history as the first QCC graduate to be hired by Brookhaven National Laboratory with only an A.S. degree.

After participating in QCC's Developing Next Generation Radiation Safety Professionals Program, Samanta turned her hard work, perseverance, and passion into a career in radiation safety. Through coursework, research, and hands-on internship experience, she developed the skills that helped launch her professional journey.

Her achievement is an inspiring example of where opportunity, mentorship, and determination can lead. We are proud to celebrate this incredible milestone and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes in the future.
