The NCLEX-RN ELL Program reconnected Minia Esperanza de Ponce to her lifelong passion: nursing. 🩺

“I saw a great opportunity to improve my own future and the well-being of my family by doing what I love,” says Minia. After completing the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS)’s NCLEX-RN Preparation for Foreign-Trained Nurses training program at Lehman College in 2023, the bilingual nurse from El Salvador rejoined her chosen profession, securing full-time employment at Mount Sinai Morningside. "This program was life-changing for me and my family," she says. 👏

The SBS National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) Preparation for Foreign-Trained Nurses training program, offered in collaboration with Lehman College Continuing Education Hub, is an intensive, 8-month training for immigrant nurses in NYC.
