Thank you to Brenna from Food Bank For New York City for leading a great hands-on workshop on meal planning and healthy eating!

Participants created weekly meal plans and shopping lists, learned about building balanced meals, and discussed easy ways to add more protein to everyday recipes. They enjoyed a pasta salad made with fresh vegetables and raisins. Guests also received cooler bags, almonds, garlic, and fresh fruits and vegetables to support healthy habits at home.

Providing workshops like these is just one of the many ways Nazareth Housing helps individuals and families build stability, confidence, and long-term well-being.

Thank you to Brenna from Food Bank For New York City for leading another informative Nutrition Workshop!

During this hands-on session, participants learned how to read and understand nutrition labels, including serving sizes and key information to look for when purchasing packaged foods. Brenna also demonstrated how to make a nutritious quinoa black bean salad, which participants had the opportunity to sample.

To help put these lessons into practice at home, attendees left with a bag of fresh fruits, vegetables, and olive oil. 🍎🥕🫒

The 2025 Annual Homeless Assessment Report found an 8% drop in homelessness — one of the highest decreases in the nation.

Nevertheless, we remain in crisis. New York still has the highest rate of homelessness in the U.S. and the progress we have made is being threatened by federal funding cuts.
