Forecast: cloudy with a strong chance of learning! ☁️
The Prospect Panthers recently welcomed Mr. Jay Fray of Drizzle Weather for an engaging lesson on meteorology. The kids shared their favorite types of weather, learned about the layers of Earth's atmosphere, discovered that clouds form in the troposphere, and explored different cloud types.
To bring the science to life, students created their own cloud parfaits, using graham crackers, marshmallows, whipped cream, and blue icing to represent different layers of the atmosphere. This hands-on activity helped them visualize how our atmosphere is structured and where clouds form. A sweet treat and a sweet lesson in weather science! 🌦️

Allie’s Place Afterschool recently showed off the hip-hop routines they’ve been working on with Ms. Theresa of National Enrichment Group!
After weeks of practice, the kids had one final rehearsal before performing for staff, showcasing choreography set to music from across the decades. After the performance, a group dance session and freestyle circle broke out that brought students and staff together on the dance floor. The kids even got Director of Afterschool & Recreation David Belmar up moving and grooving.
Proud of the hard work, confidence, and creativity the kids brought to the stage!

The kids in Allie’s Place Afterschool have been practicing yoga with Ms. Priscilla from Sweet Water Dance and Yoga, and with the beautiful weather, they recently took their practice outdoors! 🧘🏾♂️☀️ In the backyard, students worked on their poses while also exploring the calming sounds of meditative instruments, including a Tibetan singing bowl, Koshi chimes, and a steel tongue drum.
