Last week, our community came together for 78 Minutes of Hope in recognition of Yom Ha’Atzmaut.

Through art, storytelling, and conversation, we reflected on resilience, strength, and the power of gathering in community.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped make it so special.

This evening, many will gather around the seder table for and retell the story of the Israelites’ Exodus from slavery in Egypt. Passover reminds us of the power of hope, resilience, renewal, and our ability to begin again.

Across 14Y, we’ve already been marking the holiday in meaningful ways. From Preschool to After School to older adults at Project ORE, our community has come together to reflect, create, and connect.

Here are a few highlights:
🔹 made and Afikomen covers, read Passover stories, and enjoyed Matzah pizza
🔹 hosted a Passover Suminagashi workshop, using the Japanese art of floating ink on water to create beautiful designs
🔹 baked Matzah in cooking class
🔹Pause/Play brought families together for a puppet show and seder plate art, while adults joined bestselling novelist for a conversation about the Passover story
🔹 .nyc fellows and alumni gathered through food and memory, with each dish carrying a personal story
🔹Project ORE will host a seder for older adults in our community

From everyone here at 14Y, we hope you have a Happy Passover!
