Congratulations to the Earlville Opera House Arts Center!

State grant will add air conditioning to Earlville Opera House The New York State Council on the Arts has awarded $89,872 to the Earlville Opera House to install air conditioning in the 1892 historic Landmark Theater and re-roof a portion of its building.

The New York State Council on the Arts is saddened by the passing of Danny Simmons, our former Council Chair from 2009-2012, whose dedication to arts and culture served communities all across the state.

Danny Simmons, founder of Rush Arts and passionate supporter of Black artists, has died at 72 Mr. Simmons, whose brothers Russell and Joseph are hip-hop royalty, moved to Philadelphia in 2015 and founded Rush Arts Philadelphia. He worked closely with Mural Arts, PMA, and AAMP.
