Summer Institute is only a few short weeks away! So we're reflecting on the brilliance of last summer. 🌞

In the Power, Identity & Privilege (PIP) class at our 2025 Queens Summer Institute, Nashers created a collaborative zine exploring home, community, and the impact of gentrification on their neighborhoods. Led by faculty Marian Fragoso and deans Gabrielle Garcia and Angelina Bravo, the zine features Nasher's reflections on these questions:

🏑 What does home mean to you?
🌳 How would you preserve your neighborhood?
πŸŒ† What is a place from home you'd want to shout out?

Head to the link in our bio to read the full zine.

Happy Pride Month from Sadie Nash!

This month we are sharing reflections on Pride from SNLP community members. Today, we're highlighting reflections from Nasher Alum, Nicole Rios (she/her) on the impact of SNLP Programming as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ’œ

"Pride month is important to me, because it helps spread love and awareness for the right to self expression. The month itself also creates a safe space for LGBTQIA+ individuals, such as myself, to showcase what it means to live with pride. Being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and participating in Sadie Nash gave me a space to feel comfortable and create change in the same way LGBTQIA+ community members have done before." - Nicole Rios

What would you bring to the fight for gender justice?

During the Sadie Nash program at International High School at Laguardia Community College, Nashers explored gender-based political movements from around the world, including 8M, Take Back the Night, and more. Inspired by these movements, they created posters imagining the messages, demands, and visions they would bring to an action against gender inequality.

Led by Faculty Member Marian Fragoso, this activity encouraged Nashers to connect history, activism, and creativity while envisioning a more just future.

This Pride Month we're highlighting reflections from our community members. Today we're sharing a quote from Poet Andrea Gibson (they/them), selected by Programs Manager Charlie.

"I learned the sacredness of outrage, and the holiness of political resistance and protest...I learned that love often looks like fighting with one’s whole heart to dismantle unloving systems of oppression." - Andrea Gibson

Happy Pride Month from Sadie Nash!

This month we are sharing reflections on Pride from SNLP community members. Today, we're highlighting reflections from our Senior Director of Strategic Advancement, Marissa Hatten (they/she) on queering leadership.

"Queering leadership is challenging the norms of what we associate with leadership. When you expand who is expected to be or accepted as a leader, you make room for new innovations and possibilities. You also make room for new perspectives and more compassionate and just approaches to leading." - Marissa Hatten
