to CPC Leadership Council, a tight-knit community of business and nonprofit leaders who seek to advance CPC’s mission, threw the very first Mahjong Night fundraiser during AAPI Heritage Month 🀄
This evening brought together nearly 80 guests of all ages and experience levels who played to support Asian American, immigrant, and low-income New Yorkers who benefit from CPC services.

CPC has been partnering with Trinity Church Wall Street to bring music education to children in our afterschool childcare programs across Manhattan's Chinatown, including Baxter St. SACCC (P.S. 130), Chrystie St. SACCC (P.S. 42), Confucius Plaza SACCC (P.S. 124), and Pike Street SACCC (P.S. 2).
Through this partnership, more than 280 children are learning songwriting, exploring new instruments, and participating in choral education, ukulele, and guitar instruction.
The recent end of year Trinity Concert was a beautiful celebration of their hard work and creativity. 🎶

CPC and Strength in Numbers Consulting Group just released "Memories and Movement: Intergenerational Study of Political Attitudes within New York City's Chinese American Communities."
Key findings:
🌍 Foreign Policy: Older adults focus on risk and instability, while youth emphasize human rights and moral accountability.
🗳️ Civic Participation: Younger adults link public safety issues to larger political problems. Older adults emphasize personal responsibility and moral order.
✅ Points of Agreement: Economic anxiety over tariffs and trade wars. Distrust of politicians. Belief in community-level action through volunteering.

New York City is adding jobs. But for many New Yorkers, work still does not lead to stability.
That is the challenge at the heart of Making Growth Matter, a new report from the New York City Employment and Training Coalition, and the Association for a Better New York, prepared by HR&A Advisors. Economic growth has to connect to real jobs, real career pathways, and real stability for New Yorkers.
A growing economy is not enough if New Yorkers cannot afford to live here, move up, and build a stable future.

CPC Adult Literacy Program x UnitedHealthcare
We partnered with UnitedHealthcare () for a language-accessible workshop providing information on healthcare coverage including Medicaid, the Essential Plan, and Medicare. The session covered eligibility qualifications, program requirements, and options available for participants, along with an overview of UnitedHealthcare benefits.
As our students learn English to support their children, navigate city services, secure employment, and pursue citizenship, this workshop aims to strengthen and uplift our immigrant community.

to when CPC Brooklyn Older Adult Center opened its rooftop garden for the growing season! Approximately 100 community members joined us to plant over 300 plants 🌱
We were excited to welcome representatives from the offices of Congressman Dan Goldman, State Senator Stephen Chan, and Council Member Susan Zhuang, and NYU Langone. Thank you to National Grid for supporting this project.

ℹ️ CPC Hong Ning Senior Housing and 64 Norfolk Senior Housing provide housing and wellness services for over 330 low-income seniors and formerly unhoused New Yorkers.

CPC hosted Undo Poverty Flushing's financial literacy workshop at our Queens Community Services. Led by National Financial Network and Flushing Bank, community members gained practical financial skills to help them plan, save, and thrive. 💙
Undo Poverty: Flushing is co-led by six community organizations who work collectively to advance mobility from poverty for individuals and families in Flushing. They include Asian Americans for Equality, The Child Center of NY, Minkwon Center for Community Action, Queens Public Library, River Fund, and CPC.
