From New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) to NBA Champion.

Jose Alvarado, who grew up at Berry Street Houses in Williamsburg, has reached the top—now an NBA Champion with the New York Knicks.

His journey from public housing to Madison Square Garden is inspiring the next generation of New Yorkers and showing what’s possible with hard work, determination, and strong community roots.

“It feels like a way of giving back, especially that he comes from this community, Hispanic background,” said lifelong Knicks fan Nissie Santiago.
