🚄 Next Stop: November 3rd General Election
We won the primary election, and I want to sincerely thank our supporters, volunteers, and everyone who believed in our campaign and our shared vision for a more affordable, livable, and connected Clark County.
Over the past eight months, I have learned so much, grown as a person, and had the privilege of meeting incredible people who have become friends and part of this journey. It has not always been easy, but every conversation and every act of encouragement reminded me that meaningful change is built through community.
As the saying goes, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” We have come this far because we chose to go together, and I am deeply grateful for each and every one of you.
I also want to thank my fellow candidates for stepping forward to serve. Running for office takes courage, dedication, and heart. While we may have different ideas, we all share a commitment to making our community stronger, and I appreciate everyone who participated in this democratic process.
Now, the work continues. Together, let’s keep building a better and strong Southern Nevada.
On to November. 🚄

There’s nothing easy about running for office, so I want to recognize Douglas Candido for putting his name on the ballot.
It takes a lot of courage, consistency, and hard work to run a campaign. I have seen him work every day, dedicated to Assembly District 6 and making sure that their voice and their vote were heard. He’s a hard worker, a dedicated union member, and a force to be reckoned with.
I have always said if you want to run for office, you should run for office regardless of who sits in that seat. I first ran for office against an incumbent and also lost, but it wasn’t a loss to me because it built so many relationships and inspired so many people.
So Douglas, keep inspiring your base. You did a great job. You kept this incumbent on his toes, and I’m looking forward to what the future has in store for you. 💯💯💯

Friends,
The primary election results are in, and while they aren't what we worked so hard for, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my family, my staff, our volunteers, and every voter who stood with us. I also want to congratulate Linda Stover on a hard-earned win.
Serving as your Bernalillo County Assessor has been one of the greatest honors of my life.
I am incredibly proud of the legacy and the track record our administration has built. From day one, we focused on shifting the tax burden off of working families. We successfully held out-of-state private equity accountable, protected thousands of seniors and veterans, and brought real fairness and transparency to the Assessor's office.
While my time in this office will draw to a close at the end of my term, my commitment to the people of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County remains absolute. I congratulate my opponents on their victory and sincerely hope they will continue to build on the vital taxpayer protections we put in place.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve, to lead, and to fight for the community we all love.
With gratitude and respect,
Damian Lara Bernalillo County Assessor
