Space City USA (Huntsville, Alabama) was one of the many post-Disney theme parks that opened, started construction but stalled or never moved beyond initial planning.

By 1967 things were looking no better, with what little had been built just sitting and rotting away, including the magnificent train. The whole venture was abandoned, whether due to poor planning, financial misbehaving, or lack of experience, we don’t really know.”
