Project MED669 Water Main Replacement
Please be advised that the overnight TEST water shut-off scheduled for Monday, June 22, beginning at 11:59 PM and continuing until approximately 5:00 AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, has been CONFIRMED.
This shutdown will affect the following locations:
Both east and west sides of 7th Avenue from W 27th Street to W 25th Street (2 blocks)
West 25th Street from 6th Avenue to 7th Avenue
If work is completed ahead of schedule, water service may be restored earlier. These temporary water shutdowns are necessary to support ongoing infrastructure work. Notices will also be posted throughout all affected areas.

Last week MCB4 took a tour of the Gateway project, a $16B rail infrastructure initiative to modernize and expand the Northeast Corridor, and it is all happing through our district.
It involves building a new train tunnel under the Hudson River and connecting it to Penn Station making it one of the most significant transportation projects in our area.

Temporary nighttime water shutdown scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM has been confirmed for the following locations:
7th Avenue between W 29th Street and W 27th Street (2 blocks, both sides of the street)
If work is completed ahead of schedule, water service may be restored earlier. A follow-up email will be sent once service has been fully restored.
These temporary water shutdowns are necessary to support ongoing infrastructure work. Notices will also be posted throughout all affected areas.

Distribution Water Main Replacement MED669 Project Update:
Please be advised that the temporary nighttime water shutdown scheduled for TONIGHT, June 12, 2026, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM HAS BEEN CANCELLED. Due to extreme heat Con Edison has restricted all work near their underground electric infrastructure.
The affected locations were:
7th Avenue from West 27th Street to 29th Street
Please note that the confirmation notice distributed yesterday for tonightβs water shutdown is no longer in effect.
There is still a planned shutdown for Monday, 06/15/26, night from 9:00 PM - 5:00 AM.
