As the new Executive Director of the Pitkin Avenue BID, it has been a complete pleasure to be part of Small Business Climate Resilience Program, which designs and delivers projects to build resilience to climate change in business communities that are the backbone of many cities. πŸŒ†

It was an even greater honor to be invited to speak on a panel today at the 7th Annual National Adaptation Forum , where I spoke about past and present projects, from canopy shading and tree guard installations to our tree guard benches which will be installed by this summer.

Our businesses have benefited greatly, from utility cost savings to cooling measures like solar control film that help keep interiors cooler. Thank you to the Mayor’s Office for continuing to include Brownsville in this work; we are deeply grateful to be part of Climate Strong Communities and look forward to sharing more from our partnership!

When we think about the true meaning of resurrection, it refers to bringing something dead back to life, to restore and revitalize, and that was truly our intention this year and for the path forward.

To showcase that we are the Wonderland we have always dreamed of and the chosen people of God. Divided we are nothing, but unified we are stronger. We still have faith and hope that together we will continue restoring our community and showcasing all of the joy that resides here.

We would like to thank our State Senator .persaud , our incredible Assemblymember ,our City Council member, and our District Leader, Anthony Jones for taking the time to celebrate and have fun with us, and we are grateful to our wonderful Community Board16, and the organizations that pour into this event every year. To the staff and volunteers who pulled this together we appreciate you!πŸ™πŸ½

Next year we will be back bigger and better. To the families, the Pitkin Avenue BID would like to thank you for keeping the businesses on our corridor open.

We hope you had a wonderful Easter!
