🎵Joy Guidry takes over the Armoy's Veterans Room on June 3 & 4 with a transcendent performance rooted in sound, spirit, and radical self-expression. 🎶✨

A celebrated bassoonist, composer, and experimental artist, Guidry brings their ambient album "Five Prayers" to life—reimagined as a Southern church revival using the words of trail blazers like June Jordan, and Toni Morrison. Joined by Tchester Holmes andJessie Cox on percussion, and Scott Li on Violin and Electronics this performance is inspired by Black American spirituality and weaves together jazz, gospel, blues, opera, ballet, and minimalism into a deeply ruminative experience.

🎤Join leading soprano leggero Liv Redpath for her New York solo recital debut tonight and May 30 in the Armory’s Board of Officers Room. The program features a selection of arias and art songs that showcase a curated program of French art songs that beautifully showcase her breathtaking coloratura, agility, and brightness.

Redpath is quickly establishing herself on the international stage with performances in the world’s most prestigious opera houses, including Teatro Real, the Glyndebourne Festival, the Royal Opera House, Santa Fe Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera.

🎙️Spend an afternoon with standout voices in podcasting! Randy Cohen (Person, Place, Thing), Ramzi Fawaz (Nerd From the Future), and Dr. Karen Tongson alongside Dr. Megan Auster-Rosen (The Art of Grief) and a performance by Nile Harris on June 6 for Unscripted: Live at the Armory.

This one-night event brings podcasting off the airwaves and into the room, with live recordings diving into science and skepticism, confidence and conspiracy, and the timeless pull of a great story.

Inspired by Archibald MacLeish’s The Fall of the City—the landmark 1937 radio play that once turned the Armory into an immersive soundscape—Unscripted reimagines storytelling as a shared, real-time experience with a live audience.

From Youth Corps Member to Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist with the NYC Department of Education, Paola Ocampo's educational fingerprint can be found on so many lives from her peers to her collaborators to her students. Paola has been a cornerstone of our Arts Education Youth Corps program for over 14 years and has also traveled the world with us and even helped us create curriculum with the Royal Shakespeare Company. She has built robots inspired by ’The Machine’ by Matt Charman and Josie Rourke, presented at Armory Board Meetings, and got married earlier this month.
