marks the day freedom reached those who had long been denied it—and reminds us how far we still must go. At YWCA NYC, our commitment to eliminating racism is not symbolic; it’s constant, urgent, and actionable. Today, we honor Black liberation, confront injustice, and recommit to building a future rooted in equity and dignity for all.

NYC, it's time to make your voice heard!
Early voting for New York City’s primary election began Saturday, June 13, and runs through June 21. Election Day is June 23.
The leaders elected in local races make decisions that affect our neighborhoods every day—from schools and housing to transit, healthcare, and community resources.
Primaries are open to voters enrolled in a party, so take a minute to check your registration and party enrollment, then make a plan to vote.

ALL young people deserve access to safe, respectful healthcare. Gender-affirming care is healthcare. It is autonomy, dignity, safety, and support. And for many, it is life-saving.
The YWCA NYC stands with trans communities and advocates for a future where everyone can access the healthcare they need without barriers, fear, or stigma. 🏳️⚧️

Last Friday, YWCA NYC joined Deloitte Impact Day 2026 at PS 298 in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Over 20 Deloitte volunteers, Board Member Diane Sinti, and our staff worked together to host a community career fair.
Deloitte volunteers offered one-on-one coaching, giving advice on job searching, resume writing, and interview skills. These sessions helped attendees feel more confident about finding new career opportunities.
Families could also pick out professional clothing, thanks to donations from Delivering Good, to help with their job search. While parents and caregivers focused on career development, YWCA NYC staff provided activities and care for their children.
We are very thankful to the Deloitte team for sharing their time, knowledge, and encouragement. Your support helped our community members take meaningful next steps toward their professional goals.

For their end-of-semester showcase, PS 298 students celebrated all the skills, techniques, and teamwork they've built through tennis this year.
Each student was gifted their own tennis racket by the incredible instructor team from Johnny Mac Tennis Project, to continue practicing these skills at home. Programs like tennis help young people build confidence and stay active.

Our community at Urban Assembly Academy for Future Leaders came together for a Rose Celebration to honor the mothers, caregivers, and loved ones who support our students every day.
Students shared heartfelt pieces they wrote in appreciation of their families and supporters. We closed out the day with the YWCA Flower Bar, where families created bouquets to take home. 💐
