Introducing the 2026 recipient of our Doris & Allen Oglander Scholarship, Ruth! πŸ¦…

β€œStarting this fall, I will attend the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO). I will be a social work major in hopes of becoming an immigration social worker. Central is so much more than a high school. It is a building full of teachers with a passion and goal of shaping tomorrow’s leaders. Central teachers push students out of their comfort zones, by getting them to ask the difficult questions and by making them take risks. Thank you to Mr. Jimmie Foster, Mrs. Diane Allen, and Mrs. Martha Omar for preparing me with strong interview and writing skills; thanks to these skills I was able to secure scholarships and a summer internship. I am grateful for all Central teachers. Upon graduation, I may have left the building, but Central will always be with me.”

Congratulations, Ruth, and best of luck! πŸ’œ
