Extreme heat can be dangerous especially for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

📍 Find a cooling center near you: https://www.thresholdcoc.org/resources/

If you or someone you know needs to shelter from high temperatures, many CoC partners host cooling centers across Douglas, Sarpy, and Pottawattamie counties. These spaces offer a place to rest, rehydrate, and avoid heat-related illness. We recommend calling to confirm availability before arrival.

Please share this post and link widely — you could help save lives.

Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) projects officially began implementation on March 1: https://www.thresholdcoc.org/news/march-2026-yhdp-update

Since then, we’ve implemented new YHDP funded projects to better support unhoused youth on the path to self-sufficiency.

• YHDP start-up and implementation trainings
• Coordinated Entry System development and process-building
• Strengthening communication and collaboration across partner agencies
• Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) planning and infrastructure development
• Training opportunities for frontline staff, project staff, and leadership teams

Youth homelessness is preventable. In Omaha, we are working together to make sure young people have the stability they deserve.
