World Perspectives: Trump 2.0 Plunged Into Irreversible Crisis—Step Up the Global Fightback - ISA This is the fourth World Perspectives statement produced by ISA since the inauguration of Donald Trump’s second presidency.

The Trump administration is fighting to define the anti-ICE movement as violent extremism, to make an example of those arrested and to scare everyone else into backing away quietly. The more they can build a narrative that they rounded up “the violent ones,” the more our struggle is divided and the lessons are scratched away.
We need a coordinated mass public defense campaign for the Minnesota 15—bringing together unions, immigrants rights organizations, rapid response networks, student groups, socialist/left organizations, and more-to organize exactly this kind of action, to pass union resolutions in support, and to call nationally for solidarity protests.

From his father’s bloody emerald mine to SpaceX’s Boca Chica launch facility, everything Elon Musk has comes from the exploitation of working-class labor. Workers produce the things that make Elon Musk’s companies “worth” trillions on the stock market, but they take home a tiny fraction of the wealth they generate. When these workers try to unionize to fight for the wages and conditions they need, he fires them. This is the case for every company; that’s how capitalism works.
Under a socialist system, there would be no billionaires and no trillionaires. Workers would run their workplaces democratically and allocate profits to technological advancements and social good. Healthcare would be free, schools would be robustly funded, food and water would be clean and plentiful, and imperialist war and genocide would be a thing of the past.

The ruling class is gearing up for war all over the world, with the defining inter-imperialist conflict being between the US and China. The ideological groundwork for war has always included sexism: men need to be prepared to defend their country abroad, and women need to hold down the fort at home. Deviations from the “norm” point away from the nationalist and subservient working class that they want. Today, the attacks on trans rights are an expression of this trend.
