The FIFA World Cup starts today! ⚽

While Orlando isn’t hosting matches, many fans in our community may be traveling to catch the action. Major events like this are a common target for criminals, so be on the lookout for scams. Stick to verified ticket sellers, and avoid purchasing tickets through private sellers or social media. Remember, if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Meeting up for an online purchase? Play it safe and use UCFPD's Safe Spots. 💸

While officers don’t oversee exchanges, the area is well-lit and under surveillance, and our building is staffed 24/7, 365. If a seller or buyer refuses to meet there, that’s a red flag. Don’t go through with the exchange.

Last night, Officers Lee Smith and Michael Rivera attended a Running 4 Heroes Inc. event to honor two fallen officers.

💙 Carroll County Sheriff’s Office (VA) Deputy Sheriff Logan Utt
💙 St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (FL) Deputy Sheriff Alan Ira Reffsin

Running 4 Heroes is dedicated to supporting the families of first responders who have died in the line of duty. For each fallen officer, a youth runner completes a one‑mile tribute while carrying a flag, which is later presented to the officer’s family along with a handwritten note.

Hurricane season starts today, June 1. 🌀

Don’t wait until a storm is on the radar—take a few simple steps now to stay ready:

✅ Build or refresh your emergency kit. Include at least three days’ worth of water and food, medications, flashlights, chargers and important documents.
✅ Make a plan and know how to stay informed. UCF will use the UCF Alert system to share updates with the campus community. Make sure your contact information is up to date at getrave.com/login/ucf.
✅ Learn how UCF prepares for severe weather and what to expect on campus.

Being prepared helps keep you and our campus community safe. Visit ucf.edu/hurricane to learn more about how we get ready for hurricane season—and what you can do to help.

This little one was getting a bit restless during a family member’s high school graduation, so Officer Temperato stepped in to help. Getting to check out all the cool gear was a big hit, and the parents were grateful to avoid a meltdown!

As we wrap up high school graduations today, we want to thank students, faculty, and staff for their flexibility with the extra traffic and road closures to accommodate graduates and their guests. Congratulations to all the graduates—we hope to see some of you on campus as UCF Knights this fall!
