Today, we honor freedom and celebrate resilience. Happy Juneteenth!
June 19, 1865, marks the day when the last enslaved people in the U.S. were freed, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
This day is a time to reflect, learn, and take action toward justice.

Few things are worse than victimizing the elderly. And when it’s done by someone whose job it is to care for seniors, it’s even more infuriating!
Sabine Perrin, a Certified Nursing Assistance, worked at an Assisted Living Facility where she was TRUSTED to care after elderly folks in our community. Instead, she STOLE a 74-year-old patient’s debit card, and withdrew more than $1500 from ATMs. Perrin, 56, faces one count of Theft from a Person Over 65, and five counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card.
Our detectives will never stop working hard to protect the most vulnerable in our community.

At 105 years young, Doris proved that age is just a number.
During the Women’s Self-Defense Course at the Taft Community Center, Doris shared that dancing is what keeps her strong. She even proudly raised her fist to show everyone just how strong she still is.
This course hosted by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Unit, bringing together women of all ages to learn valuable self-defense skills, and Doris was an inspiring reminder that determination, confidence, and a positive attitude know no age limit. We were honored to have her stop by and share her incredible spirit with us. 💪💙
