🚓 Impaired Driving Mobilization Additional Patrol 🚓

The Palestine Police Department would like to inform residents that additional traffic enforcement is currently underway as part of the Strategic Traffic Enforcement Program.

This increased enforcement is part of the TxDOT Impaired Driving Mobilization campaign for the Fourth of July holiday period. Officers will be conducting additional patrols, along with normal patrol operations, with a focus on identifying and stopping intoxicated drivers.

The goal of this effort is simple: to help prevent crashes, injuries, and deaths caused by impaired driving. If you plan to celebrate, please plan ahead. Designate a sober driver, use a rideshare service, or make arrangements to stay where you are.

Driving impaired is not worth the risk to your life, someone else’s life, or your future.

Don’t Risk It. Drive Sober.

Officer Jenkins is a proud native of Palestine and is honored to serve the community he has always called home. With nine months of law enforcement experience, he brings a strong commitment to public service, a desire to help others, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of our residents.

There is something special about serving the city that helped shape you, and Officer Jenkins understands the importance of protecting and giving back to the community that raised him. We are excited to have him join our team and look forward to the contributions he will make to the citizens of Palestine.

The Palestine Police Department would like to make residents aware of an attempted vehicle burglary that recently occurred in the 500 block of West Point Tap Road early this morning.

While no property was reported stolen in this incident, it serves as an important reminder that criminals often look for any opportunity. We encourage all residents to take a few simple precautions to help protect themselves and their property:

🔒 Always lock your vehicle, even when parked at home.
🏠 Remove all valuables from your vehicle and store them inside your residence.
💡 Park in well-lit areas whenever possible.
👀 Remain alert and report suspicious activity immediately.

We also ask our community to remember: If you see something, say something. Prompt reporting of suspicious persons or activity can help prevent crimes before they occur and assist officers in keeping our neighborhoods safe.
