🤝 The Power of Shared Parenting: Bridging the Gap for Foster Youth.

What is the best gift we can give a child in foster care? A united front. Shared parenting is the practice of foster families and biological families working hand-in-hand. It’s not always easy, but it is profoundly necessary for the emotional well-being of the children we serve.

Why it changes everything:
🌟 It removes the child's fear of "picking sides."
🌟 It honors the child's roots, culture, and identity.
🌟 It sets biological parents up for a smoother, more successful reunification.

How to start today:
1. Send a text update with a cute photo of the child.
2. Ask the birth parents for input on a haircut, a sports sign-up, or a bedtime routine.
3. Keep a photo of the biological family in the child’s room.

Remember: Foster care isn't about replacing a family; it's about surrounding a child with a bigger village. Let's work together!
