#2 IN THE NATION 🥈

Arizona was ranked #2 in the nation for the highest number of DRE evaluations completed in 2025, second only to California. This is a tremendous accomplishment, and all the credit goes to our DREs and DRE instructors.

Of the five DREs nationwide who conducted more than 100 evaluations in 2025, four were from Arizona—two from Mesa PD (Officer Roselli and Officer Cook) and two from Sierra Vista PD (Officer Clark and Officer Chavez).

Officer Cook and Officer Chavez also tied for the highest number of enforcement DRE evaluations completed in the nation, each conducting 110 evaluations.

Arizona continues to set the standard for excellence in the DRE program. Congratulations to these outstanding officers and to all Arizona DREs whose commitment and professionalism help keep impaired drivers off our roads and our communities safe.

The Mother Road is turning 100! From Winslow to Kingman, communities all along historic Route 66 are celebrating 100 years of the iconic highway.

This week, GOHS Director Jesse Torrez, State DRE Coordinator Sgt. George Chwe, State Phlebotomy Coordinator Dallas Cotts, and GOHS’s Lissette Morgan are in Williams, Arizona, joining the centennial festivities. GOHS is partnering with the Williams Police Department and providing support from Drug Recognition Experts (DREs) to help keep the celebration safe for everyone.

If you're attending, stop by our table to pick up a free tire pressure gauge. And before you hit the road, always take a minute to make sure your vehicle is in safe driving condition. Safe travels, and enjoy the Route 66 celebrations!
