This Father’s Day, we celebrate all of the incredible fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who lead with love, strength, and dedication.

A special thank you to the amazing dads on our team who work hard every day to serve our community while also being role models for their families. Your commitment both at home and in the workplace does not go unnoticed.

Wishing all the fathers in our community a Happy Father’s Day filled with love, appreciation, and time with those who matter most.

Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and progress.

As we reflect on our nation's history, we also recognize the importance of continuing to build communities where opportunity, dignity, and equality are accessible to all.

In observance of Juneteenth, the Office of Councilwoman Betty Guardado and City of Phoenix offices are closed today.

Today, I joined Mayor Gallego and Vice Mayor Hodge Washington in bringing forth an item that directs staff to explore ways to strengthen wages and workforce stability for the people who help keep Phoenix running every day.

I've personally met individuals working in positions connected to City operations who are experiencing homelessness despite working every day. That reality is unacceptable.
