Who We Are
A Fisher House is a “home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military treatment facilities and VA medical centers. Fisher House Portsmouth supports patients and families receiving care at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. The Fisher House is located on the Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads - Portsmouth Annex which is approximately a five minute walk from the medical center.
All Navy and Marine Corps Fisher House operations fall under Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) oversight. Fisher Houses are constructed and donated by the Fisher House Foundation, Inc., a national nonprofit organization established to assist with the coordination of private support and encourage public support for the construction of Fisher Houses. The houses are located in proximity to military medical treatment facilities.
