Coalition meetings take place on the 3rd Thursday of every other month from 1-2pm at various partner locations in the city.

PURPOSE: To promote positive youth development in the City of Portsmouth by developing, implementing and monitoring a comprehensive prevention plan. The plan is aimed at preventing youth alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, violence, delinquency, teen pregnancy and school drop out.

Why are kids so APATHETIC these days? It's because they have NO SKILLS! A couple of weeks ago I lead a parenting seminar on apathy. I mostly signed up to lead this seminar because our own students' apathy is just killing me! Especially in spring, it seems like kids fall off some sort of emotional cliff and check out completely. We celebrated the Grand Opening of our Chesapeake shelter today - the Beazley Center for Hope!!!!!!

A major shout out to our many donors and supporters who made this dream a reality. Already tonight new women and their families have a haven to run to in their time of need. We are humbled and excited to serve our communities in new ways. May the next 30 years see this facility change lives!
