Welcome our new assistant principal, Kristi Peterson! Please see the message below from her.

What a blessing and honor it is to be the new Assistant Principal at Smothermon Elementary! I am grateful for the opportunity to join such a dedicated and caring school community, and I look forward to building strong relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners.

I bring many years of experience in education, having served in teaching roles for kindergarten, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, dyslexia, and intervention. I also bring with me 12 years of administrative experience. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about creating positive learning environments where all students feel valued, supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential. I believe that student success is built through strong partnerships among educators, families, and the community.

Outside of school, I enjoy cheering for my Baylor Bears (Sic 'em!), spending time with my family, friends, and dogs, and finding opportunities to learn and grow personally and professionally.

What excites me most about joining Smothermon is the opportunity to become part of a community that is deeply invested in its students. I am eager to listen, learn, and contribute to the great work already taking place. My door will always be open, and I welcome the chance to connect with you throughout the school year.

I am truly excited to begin this journey and look forward to a successful year together.

🎻 Reminder for incoming kindergarten families! 🎻 Interested in Prosper ISD’s Suzuki Strings Program? Join us for the information meeting this Thursday, June 4, at 9:30 AM at Windsong Ranch Elementary.

Prosper ISD’s Suzuki program introduces young students to violin through the renowned Suzuki Method, which emphasizes parent involvement, individualized instruction, listening, and a positive learning environment. Parents must attend the meeting this Thursday to submit an application for the 2026-2027 school year. We hope to see you there!
